HOSPICE MANAGEMENT
Hospice of Humboldt is a non-profit, governed by a Board of Directors, which sets policy, creates a strategic plan for the future, approves the budget and oversees the finances, and monitors compliance and quality.
The Board members are elected and serve three year terms. The Board meets every month, and each Board member also sits on one or more committees. Some committees meet monthly, others quarterly, and others only as needed.
Hospice Management
The Board of Directors hires and supervises Marylee Bytheriver, the Executive Director (ED). Ms. Bytheriver oversees the day-to-day operations of the agency. There are six Departments, each with a Director who reports to the ED:
- Linda Kamenetzky, Director of Social Services
- Dianne Vallee, Director of Finance
- Christy Burton, Director of Human Resources
- Currently vacant as of August 2008, Director of Nursing
- Rebecca Simone, Director of Quality, and
- Barbara Garza, Director of Outreach.
The Directors, including Dr. John Nelson, the Medical Director, meet every week to collaborate on issues affecting the whole agency.

Hospice of Humboldt makes every effort to immediately resolve concerns or issues that arise. If you have any concerns or questions about the medical care you or a family member is receiving, please call the interim Director of Nursing, Suzan Jerrigan at 707-445-8443. If you are not satisfied after speaking with her, please contact the Executive Director, Marylee Bytheriver at 707-445-8443. Complaints can also be given anonymously through our complaint hotline number 707-269-1443.
